ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company and Petroleum Research Newfoundland and Labrador hosted the second International Workshop on Environmental Genomics in St. John’s, NL on June 8th - 9th, 2017. The workshop was also supported by Genome Atlantic, the Research and Development Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Government of Canada (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, and Industry, Science and Economic Development).
This second workshop focused on transitioning from academic exercises to real-world applications. Environmental genomics tools must go through various checks and balances to be able to produce data at the scale and standards required for environmental characterization and monitoring scenarios.
